{"id":1105,"date":"2014-10-01T12:26:23","date_gmt":"2014-10-01T12:26:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stqw.org\/?p=1105"},"modified":"2014-10-23T14:42:42","modified_gmt":"2014-10-23T14:42:42","slug":"latimer-road-underpass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/2014\/10\/01\/latimer-road-underpass\/","title":{"rendered":"Latimer Road underpass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Proposals for a pedestrian\/cycle underpass beneath the railway line, from the southern end of Latimer Road through to Wood Lane, have been around for several years. \u00a0Funding for this project is one of the &#8216;community benefits&#8217; from the Imperial West scheme. \u00a0Both RB Kensington &amp; Chelsea and LB Hammersmith &amp; Fulham support the proposal, as an improvement in connectivity between local neighbourhoods. \u00a0 Walking and cycling times between many destinations will be reduced.<\/p>\n<p>After a very long wait for anything to happen, a planning application has been submitted to both local councils. \u00a0The applicant is Imperial College, who are meeting the \u00a34m costs of the project.<\/p>\n<p>We are not happy at the lack of informal consultation on the detailed plans for the underpass (which we were promised back in April). \u00a0 But now the proposals are here and any interested residents will need to send comments to the Council by <strong>November 4th.<\/strong> \u00a0These can be sent online via the RBKC planning application page at this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rbkc.gov.uk\/planning\/searches\/details.aspx?adv=0&amp;simple=latimer+road&amp;simpleBatch=20&amp;simSubmit=Search&amp;id=PP\/14\/06751&amp;cn=183977+JLL+30%2c+Warwick+Street%2c+London%2c+&amp;type=application&amp;tab=tabs-planning-1\">link<\/a>\u00a0or by email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:planning@rbkc.gov.uk\">planning@rbkc.gov.uk<\/a>\u00a0or direct to the Case Officer (barry.valentine@rbkc.gov.uk),<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stqw.org\/2014\/10\/01\/latimer-road-underpass\/underpass-entrance-latimer-road\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1106\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1106\" src=\"https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Underpass-entrance-Latimer-Road.png\" alt=\"Underpass entrance Latimer Road\" width=\"1418\" height=\"809\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Underpass-entrance-Latimer-Road.png 1418w, https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Underpass-entrance-Latimer-Road-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Underpass-entrance-Latimer-Road-1024x584.png 1024w, https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/Underpass-entrance-Latimer-Road-624x356.png 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1418px) 100vw, 1418px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The St Helens Residents Association consulted its membership on the principle of an underpass back in 2011. \u00a0 At that time, the email responses which the Association received were 20 in favour and 10 against. \u00a0 Similar results have been found when we have asked for a hand vote at more recent meetings of SHRA\/StQW Forum.<\/p>\n<p>On this basis, the StQW Draft Plan supports the proposal for the underpass. \u00a0We have sent in a set of comments on the planning application, which can be seen at this link\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/StQW-to-RBKC-re-underpass.-Oct-2014.V2.pdf\">StQW to RBKC re underpass.
