{"id":1562,"date":"2016-04-21T11:32:15","date_gmt":"2016-04-21T11:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stqw.org\/?p=1562"},"modified":"2016-04-21T11:32:16","modified_gmt":"2016-04-21T11:32:16","slug":"a-neighbourhood-plan-for-old-oak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/2016\/04\/21\/a-neighbourhood-plan-for-old-oak\/","title":{"rendered":"A neighbourhood plan for Old Oak?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of residents associations on the borders of Wormwood Scrubs\/Old Oak Common have been working together in recent months on proposals to prepare a neighbourhood plan for Old Oak. \u00a0The suggested boundary of the neighbourhood area is shown in the map below (the yellow line).<a href=\"http:\/\/stqw.org\/2016\/04\/21\/a-neighbourhood-plan-for-old-oak\/opdc-area-map-v10-march-3rd-2016\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1565\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1565\" src=\"https:\/\/stqw.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/OPDC-area-map-V10-March-3rd-2016.gif\" alt=\"OPDC area map V10 March 3rd 2016\" width=\"2448\" height=\"1836\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.london.gov.uk\/about-us\/organisations-we-work\/old-oak-and-park-royal-development-corporation-opdc\">Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation <\/a>has been the planning authority for this area, since April 2015. \u00a0The Corporation has consulted in recent months on the first draft of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.london.gov.uk\/about-us\/organisations-we-work\/old-oak-and-park-royal-development-corporation-opdc\/planning-old-oa-1\">Local Plan<\/a> for the area.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than simply responding to this and other consultations, local residents see a neighbourhood plan as a good way of\u00a0identifying shared concerns over what is being planned for Old Oak, for feeding in local knowledge, and for influencing the final outcome of the OPDC Local Plan. \u00a0The idea would be for preparation of a neighbourhood plan to run alongside the next stages of the OPDC Local Plan.<\/p>\n<p>The draft of a designation \u00a0application\u00a0for a neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood area has been put together. \u00a0This will need to be approved by the OPDC Board and by LB Hammersmith &amp; Fulham, for the neighbourhood plan to go ahead.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stqw.org\/2016\/04\/21\/a-neighbourhood-plan-for-old-oak\/old-oak-designation-application-draft-v9-april-3rd\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1564\">Old Oak designation application.Draft V9 April 3rd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The application will be submitted shortly after the London Mayoral election on May 5th. \u00a0The OPDC and LBHF will then organise a 6 week public consultation, seeking views on the suggested boundary for the neighbourhood area, and on establishing an Old Oak Neighbourhood Forum.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;interim forum&#8217; put together a collective response to the OPDC consultation on its Draft Local Plan, and this can be seen at the link below and on the website of the <a href=\"http:\/\/grandunionalliance.wix.com\/grandunionalliance\">Grand Union Alliance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stqw.org\/2016\/04\/21\/a-neighbourhood-plan-for-old-oak\/response-to-opdc-draft-local-plan-final\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1563\">RESPONSE TO OPDC DRAFT LOCAL PLAN.Final<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A second version of the OPDC Local Plan will appear later this year. \u00a0Whether its policy proposals on density and building height are any different remains to be seen. \u00a0The arrival of a new Mayor of London could bring about change, as could a majority for Brexit and the resultant impact on the London property market.<\/p>\n<p>Email the StQW Forum at <a href=\"mailto:info@stqw.org\">info@stqw.org <\/a>if you would be interested to know more about the proposals for the Forum, or what is happening at Old Oak.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A group of residents associations on the borders of Wormwood Scrubs\/Old Oak Common have been working together in recent months on proposals to prepare a neighbourhood plan for Old Oak. \u00a0The suggested boundary of the neighbourhood area is shown in the map below (the yellow line).
